STURM UND DRANG; MY TEARS FOR NIGERIA

November 22, 2015

its really sad and annoying, it baffles me much while inducing a grandeur pain of high caliber enough to give one heart attack and hypertension, whenever I remember that; its only the poor and oppressed that bear the brunt of whatever catastrophes visited on our society by the hypocritically rag tag insurgents, rapaciously megalomaniac  politicians, and avariciously thieving elites who are hiding in their palatial homes far away from the masses.
As non politicians and Patriots, we are irrevocably committed to telling these agents of doom nothing but the gospel truth whether anybody likes it or not We are exercising our fundamental rights as we are known for our down to earthiness and frankness for which I am unequivocally non apologetic, we owe it a duty to tell the truth and demand for it to be told, we should and must continue to dispassionately contribute as to influence the decision of the concern people and other interested party, this is in consonant with participatory democracy where you and I are also stakeholders, Nigeria is ours and we are entitled to our opinions on how to make it better.

. Sustainable peace for oneself and his family pretty well trumps almost any other possible moral consideration. I strongly reject  the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of conflict that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.(martin luther king) Of course, if there is any country that seems to be suffering from viciously senseless mayhems the most, in the pace of rampant chaos and abyssal atrocities striking with its highest magnitude, it should be Nigeria, the current  shambolic state of the nation’s economy which represents the worst in the nation’s contemporary history, created by the inability to chart a clear-cut economic policy, worsened by abuse of regulations, flagrant violation of constitutional provisions, the corrupt activities of rent-seeking officials and politicians in which they have found more subtle ways to defraud the Treasury with continued corrosive effects on politics and economic management thereby making our public sector to remains overstaffed, highly bureaucratic, and largely ineffective. Even the swish Economic pivotal pillar which is premium motor Sprit (crude oil) that used to cost $126 per barrel has now ebbed away to only $41 per barrel, pushing so hard to the extent that many states Government couldn't pay workers salaries and the Federal Government couldn't maintain the N18,000 minimum wage, let alone the promised monthly N5000 allowance for Unemployed Citizens. Old pensioners are dying daily, workers are no longer getting salaries at the due time, the Poor people living on less than $1 per day, Government Couldn't Build infrastructures, Our Roads are bad, some school's infrastructure doesn't worth that of sorry slum, some can't even pay their children's school pees, many can't make even two square meal daily, some are dying in Hospital simply because they couldn't afford the treatment's cost. these sequence of dilapidation goes on and on... Albeit, the aforementioned sorry state of the Nation, some blood hungers are hell bend in unleashing insurgency on the society, killing innumerable innocent souls while creating  myriad state of unrest to the Nation. The turmoil is so devastating, its not only limited to economic but also the Nation security and Unity has been so devastated to no uncertain term, affixing the country at the bottom of every available indexes of progress all over the world, now that we are jubilating for the BH end is around the corner, as the Chief of Defense staff and Mr president promised to crushed them totally before December end, yes we are very optimistic,  for our gallant troops were capturing and dislodging lots of terrorist from their camps, but it's still sad and lamentable these insurgents are still holding sway barely less than a month to the deadline, suddenly they ( the terrorists) changed tactics, theirs is now hit and run attack's technique which is one of the most difficult terrorist activity  to be converted, unleashing highly indoctrinated and hypnotized suicide bombers on us, who as from the last month to date (November, 20th) have killed hundreds of innocent souls, while thousands were hospitalized,     "I am not only a pacifist but a militant pacifist. I am willing to fight for peace. Nothing will end war unless the people themselves refuse to go to war. (Albert Einstein). Despite the sorry state of the Nation economy, despite the individual financial breakdown, despite the atrocities and despite the highly hypnotized suicide female bombers unleashed on us, really unfortunate its that 45 years after the civil war, while we are presently united enjoying the peaceful coexistence in a democratic system of governance, some elements are busy creating spectrum drumming to spread the idea of another war and secession, through Radio Biafra and MASSOB activities. The Igbo fought a war of self-determination between 1967 and 1970 and lost with heavy casualty, of about one million people. This was taken as a huge price for the unity of this country. Having paid this monumental supreme price, its really hard, almost impossible for every discernable minded Igbo to even think about Biafra let alone agitating for it, the mandate in the dominion is that Igbo should work for the unity of this country on the basis of social justice, equity and fair play, not otherwise. Peace demands the most heroic labor and the most difficult sacrifice. It demands greater heroism than war. It demands greater fidelity to the truth and a much more perfect purity of conscience. (Thomas Merton). its really sad and annoying, it baffles me much while inducing a grandeur pain of high caliber enough to give one heart attack and hypertension, whenever I remember that; its only the poor and oppressed that bear the brunt of whatever catastrophes visited on our society by the hypocritically rag tag insurgents, rapaciously megalomaniac  politicians, and avariciously thieving elites who are hiding in their palatial homes far away from the masses. As non politicians and Patriots, we are irrevocably committed to telling these agents of doom nothing but the gospel truth whether anybody likes it or not We are exercising our fundamental rights as we are known for our down to earthiness and frankness for which I am unequivocally non apologetic, we owe it a duty to tell the truth and demand for it to be told, we should and must continue to dispassionately contribute as to influence the decision of the concern people and other interested party, this is in consonant with participatory democracy where you and I are also stakeholders, Nigeria is ours and we are entitled to our opinions on how to make it better. there is need to devise a strongly effective strategy as to curtail the nagging atrocities, the grandeur mayhem and the endemic corruption that stymies our Democracy, and the people driving it, its very much obvious to point all the accusing fingers at the dilapidated state of our corrupt Democratic system of Government. To revive the country by kick starting  a process of recovery we should and must first understand the situation keenly, fathoming it from its core is very essential, i fixed myself firmly to the fact that, its initially from bad leaders who have been freely dancing to their avaricious tones since 1990s, the system which was indoctrinated with corruption right from the fraudulent Electoral phenomena we are currently adopting,  geared by the method with which we are driving the Democracy especially the activities of kleptomaniac politicians who are held bend  to get power by doing all what was deemed necessary. Albeit, the whole ugly pictures I have pointed, Its not die hard to space constraints, its very possible to bring the whole mayhem to an end which is not a grand project requiring eternity to be implemented, I therefore proposed in the interim, the following solution: 1. Government should create a program to be usually aired through every available media point especially local Radio stations which majority of the masses have access to, the program shall aimed at educating and enlighten the masses about Boko Haram activities, its effects, how they take advantage of poverty and ignorance to achieve their ungodly Gold and above all how to avoid being their victims at all cost, the program should also educate the society especially the kids and youth who are highly vulnerable. there are several instances where the suicide Bombers were only scapegoats, they didn't know the mission they were on, it was reported some months ago that some boys were asked by a stranger to help him drop a bag, giving them N500 each, it was a time bomb in the bag, the man was luckily apprehended by the some youths before the bomb was detonated, a lot of such scenarios were rampant today, another instance is kidnapping someone's brother, sister or even a child and ask the person as a ransom, to drop a package at a target place so as to secure the freedom of their relative(s). In such case, the program should educate the masses on of how to report such case to police. 2. Government should intensify efforts to create job opportunities for the unemployed, who are mainly vulnerable to terrorism acts as a result of poverty and illiteracy. Depoliticization of Boko haram to separate political insurgency from the real ideologues is also an important measure. Intelligence to be more proactively pursued and provided to nip the attacks in the bud and arrest perpetrators before they strike. 3. To work closely to stem the tide of terrorism in the remote areas where both the civil and military live and stay to face the terrorists. More security personnel across, should be recruited to face the emerging challenges poised by the insurgency, The Government should Give more attention to it, rather than pursuing the former public official, officers, politician and co. converting insurgency is much beyond using military alone, its time to invest more intelligence gathering than using only Force, this can be kick started by equipping the intelligence agencies with modern Gadgets. 4. Above all, Its more than very much high time for PMB to strike this issue with every weaponry available at his disposal, peace is fundamentally the most important parameter in life, once a people got it, then they have gotten everything, Government should and must understand that giving more attention to peace restoration worth everything a Government can do its masses. 5. Like I always say: its high time for PMB to respond vehemently to this issue, for stitch in time saves nine! Otherwise Yar' aduwa's mistake is going to repeat itself, which posterity will never forgive him, and the contemporary history which presently wrote his name in Gold will swap it to black. Biafra's saga is also much more than a mere problem to be neglected, especially looking at the gravity with which it stroke Nigeria in the past, PMB should not allow this country to disintegrate under him after partaking in the war to keep it one. Former President Yar aduwa jettisoned and pooh-poohed boko haram with a mere contempt, thinking that it isn't a problem worth subscribing much attention to, now look at where we are today! I believed Nigerian will never forgive him. 6. Mr. right ( PMB) should show leadership by carrying all Nigerians along in distributing power and resources. If there is no justice, there will be no peace. If there is no peace there will be no progress. He needs to be magnanimous in victory by taking them along in order not to jeopardize the process. I mean the Igbo political elite who are the masquerades behind the Biafra’s agitators. They shouldn't be allowed to throw spanners into the works. They should be persuaded & dissuaded rather than ill-treated and alienated as to save the country from the Horror Cabals who are hell bend in driving a naturally endowed country to a certain Doom. God save Nigeria and its Unity. Engr Abdullahi Garba Ramat.
