Close to 2000 Nigeria n graduates are employed as backups/supporting staff for over 10 to 15 years without....medical, promotion, and other incentives that can improve their lives.
The deplorable conditions of service set for backup/supporting staff of Warri refining and petrochemical company, a subsidiary of N igeria national petroleum cooperation (NNPC) by the management of the cooperation is a totally slavery system. In a great nation like this (Nigeria).They sacked over 500 backups who have worked and served the company more than 10years last months without any incentives, they also reduced the salary owed them for 9 to 11 months without noticed, a meagre salary that is not even existing among the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
The management of WRPC-NNPC hide this matter from the people who could be of help to the situation. Meanwhile, Dr Ibe Kachukwu, the GMD NNPC said it was a news to him that NNPC owed any backups of the company. And he dogged the other question of Supporting staff who have been working for more than 10 years without confirmation as full staff.
This not payment, marginalisation and threatening of sacks led to a peaceful protest by the entire backups on the 4th of November, 2015. This now yielded to partially payment of reduction salary owed for 9 to 11 years, threatening to sack the remaining backups by this December without any terminal benefits. After which we have worked and served our father land for 10 -15 years inhaling dangerous chemicals in this company (warri refining and petrochemical company-WRPC-NNPC)
We are now crying out to the all Nigerians; The president of the federal rebulic of Nigeria. .Muhammadu Buhari, the Senate, the house of reps and the chief judge of the federation to please come to our aids. .Because WRPC management has already jeopardised our future. Please Nigerians save our souls. ...we are dieing. ..
