December 4, 2015

It will be recalled that SaharaReporters published a report on protests led by several women against INEC’s decision to rule the November 21st gubernatorial polls as “inconclusive”.

According to NAN, INEC materials were used to start the fire. Despite the incident the Regional Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kogi State, Halilu Pai, maintained that the elections would go forward.

“We will not succumb to the undemocratic antics of a few, replacement of the election materials are already on the way; the election will go on as scheduled,” Mr. Pai told media sources.
