In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Publicity Secretary of the APC, Omo'ba Abayomi Adesanya, alleged that the Mimiko-led government in the State organized "yet another wicked" plan to squander more funds on “frivolities”.

In the statement, exclusively obtained by a SahaRareporters correspondent in Akure, Omo'ba Adesanya, bemoaned the difficulties faced by workers and some senior citizens in the State as a result of unpaid salaries, gratuities, and allowances for over three months.

"The government of Ondo State led by Governor Olusegun Abayomi Mimiko is concocting yet another wicked plan to squander and lavish a whooping sum of N325 million on PDP members, politicians, and political office holders serving in his cabinet as Christmas and New Year gifts and allowances," Mr. Adesanya said.

He described the action of the Governor as a deliberate attempt to impoverish workers and pensioners who drive the State's economy.

"Dr. Olusegun Abayomi Mimiko should remember that the immunity clause protecting Governors, Deputies, President, and his Vice-Governor from arrest and prosecution as enshrined in the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) will not be forever. Even if it is tardy, a‎ day of reckoning will surely come for anyone that occupies such an exotic seat".
