Rivers State Gov. Wike Vows To Go To Supreme Court Over His Sack

Nyesom Wike, the flag bearer for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, has vowed to dispute the Court of Appeal ruling sacking him as Governor to the Supreme Court.

Mr. Wike made his announcement in a statement through his Special Assistant Simeon Nwakaudu today. He also called on his supporters in Rivers State to remain calm and that he was the rightfully elected Governor of Rivers State until the determination of the Supreme Court.

The Appeal Court today ordered that a rerun election will need to be held in Rivers State in 90 days. The Court also stated that the gubernatorial election was marred by violence and that the election was not valid due to widespread irregularities.
