Importers Upset About 'High' Tariffs Imposed By Nigeria Customs

The National Association of Government Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) issued a complaint regarding what they call “high tariffs” imposed by the Nigeria Customs Service. Segun Musa, the Chairman of NAGAFF asked the Federal Government review their current policy.

Mr. Musa claims that the current policy has forced several importers out of business with many others leaving the country entirely.

He recommended that the Federal Government work with the private sector to rectify the issues.

Mr. Musa also called for better monitoring of customs officials in order to stop revenue leakages.
