Speaking with SaharaReporters, a former aide to Senator Aguariavwodo, who pleaded for his name not to be mentioned stated that his former boss’ mother, Madam Sarah Aguariavwodo, was abducted at about midnight on Tuesday by heavily armed kidnappers. According to reports the kidnappers scared away residents with sporadic shooting into the air.

"Attempts to kidnap mama failed three times before this one on Tuesday. The kidnappers came in two cars and as they shot sporadically to scare people away, they succeeded in kidnapping mama," the former aide stated.

Contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu confirmed the story and assured that the police and other security agencies were working round the clock to rescue her.
