Three Osun State Officials Kidnapped

The abducted officials are Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Adebimpe Ogunlumade, the Director of the State Audit, Tajudeen Badejoko, and a driver, Oladapo Ajani Arogundade.

The Osun State government announced that three of its officials were kidnapped on Friday in Kogi State.

The abducted officials are Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Adebimpe Ogunlumade, the Director of the State Audit, Tajudeen Badejoko, and a driver, Oladapo Ajani Arogundade.

The officials were kidnapped by gunmen between Obajan and Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. They were returning from Abuja where they attended a meeting on the State and Local Government Reforms Project, a program sponsored by the World Bank and European Union.

On their way back to Osun State, gunmen brought the officials’ vehicle to a halt and whisked them away.

The Osun State government has alerted Kogi State security agencies in addition to other agencies across the country to ensure that the abductees are returned to safety.
