Chief of Defense Staff General Gabriel Olonisakin said on Monday that army forces are ready to clear all insurgents from Nigerian territory when he met with top military officers in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The CDS, joined by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadiq Baba Abubakar, and other senior military officers, was received by the Theatre Command Headquarters of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maimalari Cantonment, on Monday in Maiduguri.
Mr. Olanisakin told the media that he was in the State with the service chiefs to root out the terrorists and reappraise the ongoing military operation in Sambisa forest and its environs with the aim of clearing the remnants of Boko Haram insurgents from Nigerian territory.
