A former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, was today arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before the Federal High Court (in Abuja) for alleged diversion of N5.6billion in state funds.
Justice Anwuli Chikere, presiding, adjourned hearing of the case to the 30th of June.
Kalu’s defence counsel had notified the court that his client has filed a subsisting appeal against his trial at the Supreme Court. The apex court has not fixed a date for the hearing of that appeal.
