Ronke Shonde, wife allegedly murdered by her husband, Mr. Lekan Shonde has been secretly buried by her family members today in Lagos, SaharaReporters has learned.
Ronke was buried at the Atan Cemetery shortly after the arraignment of her husband at the Ebute Meta Magistrate Court for murder earlier today.
A source close to the family told SaharaReporters that the burial was deliberately scheduled to follow the appearance of Mr. Lekan Shonde in court over her murder.
"The family took the decision to quietly bury Ronke in order to keep eyes of the public away for the issue and allow the story fade off gradually", the source said.
Saharareporters also learned that the family had tried hard to keep the entire issues around the death of late Ronke private, so as to "manage" the entire incident internally.
However, the curious disappearance of her husband shortly after her death caused unprecedented media attention.
An autopsy report had attributed the death of Ronke to respiratory seizure and her husband was arraigned earlier today with one count of murder .
