BET awards has unveiled nominees for the Best New International Act category placing Nigerian Falz alongside other international acts like South African Emtee, Australian Tkay Maida, MHD from France, WSTRN and Section Boys from UK.
The Award is scheduled to hold on the 29th of June, 2016 in Califonia, Los Angeles, USA. This will happen along with BET Experience L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles starting from 23rd of June to 26th of June 2016. BET Awards will premier a day earlier on BET channel on DSTV, on Tuesday 28th of June, 2016.
Best New International Act Category is a viewers’ Choice Award. Voting is open for Viewer choice awards on BET website or the Social Media Platforms; @BET_intl on twitter, and hashtag ipick on Instagram. Fans can vote for their favourite artiste till 22nd, June, 2016 when voting is billed to close. Winners for the Viewers’ Choice Awards will be announced during the event on 29th of June, in USA.
According to Guardian Nigeria: “the 2016 BET AWARDs will include previously announced performances by Alicia Keys, Maxwell and more, as well as a star-studded tribute to legendary pop icon Prince featuring Sheila E., The Roots, D’Angelo and Jenelle Monae on one of the year’s biggest nights in music”. Prince was reported dead from overdose at his Paisley park recording studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota on April 21st, 2016.
