The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) stated that it has been drawn to a story on pages 1-2 of the New Telegraph newspaper of Monday, June 13 edition with the headline 'Arm Scandal: Air Force to retire AVMs, Commodores'.
A statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information (NAF), Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, said that the publication alleged that NAF is at the verge of retiring some senior officers connected with the ongoing investigation of arms purchase under the immediate past administration.
"It is pertinent to state that this story is unfounded and didn't emanate from NAF. The press is, therefore, please advised to always confirm their story with NAF before publication."
