PDP Fixes August 22 For Ondo Gubernatorial Primary Election

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced August 22, 2016 as the date of its governorship primary election in Ondo State.

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced August 22, 2016 as the date of its governorship primary election in Ondo State.

Senator Abdul Ningia, who is also a member of the National Caretaker Committee for Organization & Mobilization of the party, made the announcement on Wednesday in a press statement.

Mr. Ningia said the announcement was in compliance with the stipulations of the Electoral Act of 2010 (as amended) and by the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) Timetable and Guidelines of the PDP.

He said in the statement, “The following is the timetable of activities for conducting the Governorship Primary in Ondo State as approved by the National Caretaker Committee:

1. Sale of Aspirants' Nomination Forms; Venue: 13, Thaba-Tseka Street, British Village, Wuse II, Abuja. Friday, 22 July - Mon. 8 August 2016

2. Last day for submission of completed forms
Venue: 13, Thaba-Tseka Street, British Village, Wuse II, Abuja. Tuesday 9 August 2016

3. Screening of Aspirants
Venue: State Party Secretariat, Akure, Ondo State Thursday 11 August 2016

4. Screening Appeals
Venue: State Party Secretariat, Akure, Ondo State Saturday 13 August 2016

5. Congresses for 3 Ad-Hoc Ward Delegates to Gubernatorial Primary Thursday August 18, 2016

6. Gubernatorial Primary Election: Monday, 22 August 2016
