We are force to break our aged silence over the present federal government approach at tackling the oil rich Niger delta region ever since it came on board since May, 2015. We want to categorically tell Mr President that threatening all the militants groups with military approach will aggravate the problem, and that the safety of oil installations in Ondo State is born out of our desire to allow the Government to settle down. Like a common adage, if one uses one year to lay foundation of madness, how many years will the real madness take? The Niger delta avengers are on right track and all the Niger delta militants and youths are strongly behind them. After one year of your administration, there is no clear cut policy approach to ever increasing environmental degradation, Youths unemployment, high mortality and maternity rate, lack of basic amenities including hygienic water, lost of traditional occupation, e.t.c. in the Niger delta region. Mr. President, you have spent one and half years tackling corruption but those that corruptly snatch our oil wells are riding on luxuries abroad, all that is of interest to Mr. President and his cabinet is drilling oil, drilling oil, while we eat our faeces in the Niger delta.

We the indigenous people of Niger delta region want to let Mr. President know that the different between Niger delta area and Niger delta state is like heaven and earth, appointing Mr. Olatokunbo Ajasin from Owo local government of Ondo State in total disregard to the NDDC Act 2000 and 2001 has amended, which states categorically in part 2 Section 2b that “…………state commissioners who shall be indigenes of oil producing area”., woke us from our slumber and, this same deliberate mistakes of affront on oil producing areas is replicated in about 4 states. Mr. President should be reminded that injustice is an invitation to anarchy. He should dissuade from pushing the indigenous people of Niger delta region to the wall, Mr. president should remember the cause and origin of the common song “how many people soldier go kill” and quickly be informed that the tenets of democracy is PEOPLE, PEOPLE AND PEOPLE. Today, people from the region are molested, the can no longer sleep with two eyes because of heavy presence of military.
Aso, Mr. President should as a matter of fact call Prof. Daramola – minister of state, Niger Delta Ministry Affairs to order, he is not from Niger Delta area, and the man is playing the card of his people rather than his assignment of bettering the lots of the Niger deltans. He had announced the relocation of Ondo state office of Niger Delta Ministry Affairs to a location outside the presently located at Igbokoda. Very important. We categorically want Mr. President to announce his blueprint for Niger deltans in general, but also reverse with immediate effect the nomination of Mr. Olatokunbo Ajasin and replace him with someone from Niger delta area of Ondo State, otherwise oil installation in Ondo state will not be spared. In the interest of peace and harmony, the Government is strongly advised to use option of dialogue to tackle niger delta problem. No COWARDs in NDelta- "live itself is short"
