Nigeria’s D’Tigers Defeated By Lithuania In Male Basketball Group Stages

Nigeria’s male basketball team D’Tigers lost their second game of the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympics 89-80 to Lithuania on Tuesday night.

Nigeria started strong, opening the floor with the first score, and going on to win the first quarter 16-13.

Team Captain, Ike Diogu recorded 11 points, at the end of the second quarter as Nigeria had secured a 41-36 win at half time. But Lithuania, ranked third in the world, fought back to gaining a 16-point lead and a 65-54 win over Nigeria.

Lithuania scored the most in the final minutes of the game securing their the much-anticipated win.

Having suffered losses in their first two games, Nigeria’s chances of progressing from the group stage looks bleak.

Nigeria’s D’Tigers face Spain in their next game on Thursday.
