Nigeria’s Nwanneka Okwelogu failed to progress into the final round of the women’s shot put at the ongoing 2016 Rio Olympics.

The Harvard rising senior finished in distance 29th overall position in Group A with 16.67m, after giving so much from the beginning of the event. She progressed to 5th position after throwing a distance of 16.67m in her 1st attempt.

Thereafter she was fouled in her second attempt, and placed in the 10th position, until things finally went apart in subsequent rounds. Meanwhile, attention is now shifted to the American-based Nigeria’s male shot put thrower, Stephen Mozia to make the country proud in his own events.
