Kano Police Banned Kwankwaso From Organizing Mass Wedding

The mass wedding coincided with the State government's planned empowerment programs slated over the weekend.

The Kano State Police Command has banned the planned mass wedding organized by a group loyal to the former governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The police announced on Thursday through a statement by PPRO Musa Magaji Majia that the mass wedding has been indefinitely banned. 

The statement revealed, “Security intelligence available at our disposal revealed that some disgruntled elements are preparing to use the occasion to perpetuate havoc in the State."

He warned that the Command and other sister agencies will not fold their arms while watching people breach peace in the State.

The statement revealed that the Commissioner of Police will invite the organizers of the two events for a meeting with a view to proffering solution.
