They Came, They Stole, and Can Keep Conquering When a Chameleon dies thrice at a Fire-spot, either of them should be ashamed.

November 3, 2016

If we continue to find solutions where we have tried many times and failed many times, They may came, may steal, and can keep conquering. When a Chameleon dies thrice at a Fire-spot, either of them should be ashamed. We can truly be more pragmatic by “checking ourselves” to see if there is what we can do for ourselves first. We have for too long put our hope in the elites as our savior while we have capacity to be their solution, given that we can remove the log in our own eyes first.

It is exactly 12:01 today the 3rd of November, 2016 on my Dell Computer. I have just finished reading an article posted by the prestigious Sahara Reporters, written by my online comrade; ‘Femi ‘Adeyeye titled “They Came, They Stole, But They Would Never Conquer by”

This article may be seen as a rejoinder or a stand alone.

Comrade Femi Adeyeye’s article was eloquently put together, addressing the yester-years issues we have had and still has; I must confess that as much as I agree with him, I will not want us to understand it to the point of following the yester-years solutions which has taken us further into a more degradable path.

We must not continue to find solutions where we have tried many times and failed many times. We can truly be more pragmatic by “checking ourselves” to see if there is what we can do for ourselves first. We have for too long put our hope in the elites as our savior while we have capacity to be their solution, given that we can remove the log in our own eyes first.

Ours is a country that was comfortable with dependence until some few people who thought they knew how to set us free came with independence theory without educating the people about the new found ideology. They themselves were not totally mindful of, or educated on the pitfalls awaiting them, vis-à-vis ethnicity, religion, sacrifice, level of literacy of the people and lack in the spirit of nation building amongst others, top of them all, greed.

Howbeit, these traits happened not to be peculiar to the elites alone, which is the one gray area I have with this submission. Our traditions have been the bane of our collective growth. It is in Nigeria that no young person is allowed to say an elder has done wrong, especially in the Western part. Having respect for another is good but it must be reciprocal for it to foster development. Our over respect has interfered in almost every facet of our lives. It does not readily allow one speak about corruption before now so long as it involves an elderly person. Some elders claim a younger brother’s property including his wife after the death of the later. Gone are the days when a spade is usually called a spade, it is now a function of who is involved. People hardly speak the truth anymore due to sentimental reasons and this is not peculiar to the elite alone.

It is no news that our communal values have been eroded and I think the fault should not be hipped on the door steps of elite alone. We got where we are today as a result of a lack in true knowledge. We collectively lack knowledge as a people, the elites inclusive. The knowledge spoken of is not a measure of convectional degrees, it is from within. The type that is divine, the type that fosters love for one another, the type that is grounded in foresight, always considering the tomorrow of unborn generations. This kind of knowledge I speak of, emphasis good name over riches and Gold. Both the elites and the non-elites currently lack it in Nigeria. Nobody cares for anything except for money.

Trading of blames between the elites and the masses will not emancipate us. I say trading of blames because the elites have their stories too how the masses will not help matters. I remember 2003 or 2004 when ex-Governor Gbanga Daniels was marking an event, General Raji Rasaki, former military Governor of Lagos state was there and he advised that the Governor should do whatever comes from his mind and not mind what the people will say even if he did his best for the people, they will still complain and not appreciate him. Many more will tell you how the masses prefer outright money to infrastructure. I was opportune to know how a people will insist that oil companies give them cash rather than social amenities despite the stipulations from the federal government that developmental institutions should be planted instead of cash that a few privilege will swallow. WillBros Company, oil Pipeline laying company as at 1997 preferred to spend close to N500, 000 WEEKLY (not a joke) to the military for protection because the indigenes bill them much more on end, with violent protest following; that is in Port-Harcourt, River State Nigeria.

We have all contributed to the mess we find ourselves and it is not a class induced predicament. We all must agree to this without pride so we can move forward.

As much as I was aware that the last government will not succeed using the power of incumbency to enjoy a second tenure, thanks to the likes of Sahara Reports, neither do I have faith in most of the people voted for, nor do the people themselves ready to move forward in a manner that is developmental. All our collective psyches are bastardized in favour of corruption.

Is there a way forward in all of these? Personally, YES! If we must disallow them from conquering, then we must be concerned with the followings;

Our people must set aside a day, that wish we all must agree to do a genuine forgives and reconciliation, advisably, institutionalize it to show to the forthcoming generations what neglect to virtues cost us and the dangerous path of vices. A day of starting afresh.
A functional department setup without bias, to handle intimating our people the true tenets of democracy with respect everyone’s role and function in a democratic setting. It shall be saddle with the responsibility of letting them know how governments function in a democracy. The role of each alms of a democratic government and its people. How to be accountable to the people.

Private sector must be allowed to take its lead in the economy. The people whose system of governance we copy, the developed nations, do not allow there government to trade, but undergo the trading for profits. Governments all over the world is not for profit per say, its people are protected to profit. The Department of Defense (DoD) in America only facilitated the bringing of the Academia and the business community together to build the ARPANET. Common IP Addressing is not their responsibility. Rules were made by the Agency in-charge to regulate interaction between business men who funded research work of the academics. Our governments must be allowed by us to set the tune for business to take up their rightful place in enterprising activities rather us laying claims to National assets.
Non-contemporary lecturers in our tertiary institutions must be made to seek for alternative means of catching up, while our curriculum is upgraded to reflect global trends. If you ever followed Facebook and Google (which has grown so much to become to become ALPHABET) at their this year’s even of F8 2016 summit and I/O 2016 summit respectively, we will know we are dangerously far behind, especially knowing from their origin that these great institutions leading in the amalgamation of the world via technology, innovation and digital products provisioning for the welfare of the world, started in a University dormitories.

Please see the founding philosophies of these great men:

Evidence abound that these same giants mentioned above have platforms and APIs which our youths can use for startups without overdependence on a government that we know is not willing or lack the capacity to do anything, but capitalizes on the ignorance of the masses to enrich themselves using the tactics of divide and rule inherited our four fathers as handed over by the colonial masters. http://www.affiliatewebmuller.website/ is sole effort, devoid of any internal or DFI other than what is freely available, from great minds with human face organizations as mentioned above for a determined mind, focused on a long term goal of business growth information dissemination, aiming at full blown ecommerce, like the youths were responsible for the industrial revolution of Europe. Just to prove a point that anything is possible if we know it and set our minds to do it. Individuals that are not governments nor Nigerian made this possible and they can be read about on http://www.affiliatewebmuller.website/our-connects-our-connected-resources-how-to-make-my-website-attract-visitors/

I must not fail to mention the instrumentality of https://www.saharareporters.com to the success of the failed come back of the last administration. It is not yet the final; it is a primer to what the power of organized and strategic knowledge can do. I use this opportunity to congratulate its management and crew for a job well done. It is my belief that Affiliate Web Muller will be in full working affiliation with this platform in the total emancipation and political-economic freedom of our people come 2019.

We must learn to know that we all seek advancement and better life. No tribe can love itself more than the other, and that we are one and better off being one. No tribe is more superior, none is useless or any more talented than the rest, we must synergize to fight the collective enemy of the people, ignorance.
Very importantly, re-shape our electoral mindset. No vote should be traded. Making our votes count by voting into office, men of integrity with precedence, not one presented by a Godfather, but one with intellectual capacity to bring growth & development based on his/her connection with global trends.
We must remind ourselves that economic growth & development is as a result product creation and value added which is better handled by the private sector as government only create an enabling environment through genuine input from the people through their elected representatives.
Lastly, we must all be ready on that chosen date to kill corruption. To kick it out of our communal life. So will be able to love one another as a people. The recession was made harder because even the masses made it so on themselves.

As I conclude, I will like to inform us that the forthcoming elections should be the first of its kind in this country, better than June 12, in that it will be devoid of cash, the people will make informed choices based on candidates who can deliver for us all without electoral mal-practice. We can do this together for our collective good all so that we can hold somebody accountable and dictate how our dividends of democracy is delivered to us! Unlike when a proposed bill is allegedly thrown out under the guise that they don’t know what it means without an alternative that they know as means of delivering to us their campaign promise they made to those of you that voted for them.

It is not as bad and irredeemable as some people think; it is just the strategy that has not been right enough. Let the masses truly change first, then the few leaders will have no choice but to do what we want. Then they will be true servants and be recalled at point they become masters like they are now. For now, they paid the piper, so they are dictating the tune.

God bless Nigeria, God bless us all.
