Buhari Swears In New Chief Justice Of Nigeria

Mr. Onnoghen, the most senior justice of the Supreme Court, will replace Mahmud Mohammed, whose tenure as CJN expired at midnight on Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari swore in Walter Onnoghen as the new acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) on Thursday.

The ceremony was conducted at the council chamber in the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Mr. Onnoghen, the most senior justice of the Supreme Court, will replace Mahmud Mohammed, whose tenure as CJN expired at midnight on Wednesday.
