How Deputy Speaker's Aide Died At National Assembly

An aide of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yussuf Suleiman Lasun, Abubakar Sani Doki died on Monday at the National Assembly.

Security and Hospital sources said the deceased was rushed to the National Assembly by his son.

"He was rushed to the clinic on wheel chair and died an hour after. He didn't slump at the entrance of the National Assembly as being speculated," a security source said.

It was further learnt that the legislative aide was a childhood friend of the chairman of the House committee on finance, Rep Ibrahim Babangida Mahuta (APC, Zamfara).

A top source at Lasun's office confirmed to Daily Trust that the late legislative aide actually worked for Lasun, against reports in some quarters that he was employed by Babangida.

Daily Trust gathered that late Doki had been sick on-and-off but that he was never hospitalized.

Doki, who hailed from Bungudu, Zamfara State has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites after a funeral prayers was performed on his remains at the National Mosque.

The Director of Information of the National Assembly , Mr Ishaku Dibal confirmed the death of Doki.
