Nigeria Military Troops Kill Three Suspected Kidnappers In Bayelsa

The notorious gang, which had been terrorizing the waterways of both States, was intercepted by IRT operatives on Azikiwe Road in Port-Harcourt on their way to an operation.

Troops from Operation Delta Safe, the Nigeria Military Task Force in the Niger Delta, killed three suspected kidnappers in a shootout with some suspected sea pirates and kidnappers in the waterways of Bayelsa and Rivers States.

The notorious gang, which had been terrorizing the waterways of both States, was intercepted by IRT operatives on Azikiwe Road in Port-Harcourt on their way to an operation.

One James Peters, from Southern Ijaw, was arrested, and he is currently telling security agencies about other members of the gang and the location of their weapons.

“The gang members, on sighting the IRT Teams, opened fire and engaged the operatives. Hence, three of the hoodlums were fatally wounded while one James Peter, a 30-year-old from Southern Ijaw, was arrested alive,” the statement continued.

The troops recovered one General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) with bridge number 132/095 and a chain of bullets, as well as one AK47 rifle with bridge number 0231, and two AK47 magazine fully loaded.
