Following an investigative report by SaharaReporters that Senator Dino Melaye, who represents Kogi West, does not have a constituency office in the entire senatorial district, the senator took to Twitter in a muddled attempt to debunk our report.
Mr. Melaye, who had listed Iluafon Quarters, Aiyetoro-Gbede as his constituency office on his official legislative page , confirmed that he does not have a constituency office in Aiyetoro-Gbede. However, he tweeted pictures of an uncompleted building, claiming that it was his constituency office under construction in Kaba. He also added that he has temporary constituency offices in Kaba and Lokoja, even though he failed to mention the exact locations of the so-called temporary offices.
A constituent who resides in Kaba reacted to the senator’s post by saying, “Tell Dino to give us the address of the office he is building in Kaba, so that we will go and see of for ourselves.”
