President Buhari Resumes Work

Mr. Buhari returned to the country on Friday after a 49-day medical vacation in London.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday resumed duties after his medical vacation in London.

In a release signed by Special Adviser to the President, Femi Adesina, the president, in compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), has formally transmitted letters to the Senate and the House of Representatives, intimating the National Assembly "that I have resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with effect from Monday, March 13, 2017, after my vacation."

Mr. Buhari returned to the country on Friday after a 49-day medical vacation in London.

Speculation is rife that the president has concluded plans for a major cabinet shake-up, but Mr. Adesina and presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu have denied knowledge of the reshuffle.
