Comedians, Musicians An Actors-Naija Dey We hand, By Charly Boy

The failure of our country Nigeria is our fault as a people, and the solutions to the Nigerian problems dey we hand, my People.

Dis na injury time. Many people just dey provoke. Some dey commit suicide.

There is a fierce urgency and need for action. It kills my soul when I see young people who are already giving up on their future and their country without a fight.

I know that my generation failed to create a sure system, an environment to enable young people to grow and flourish. Notwithstanding, I also expect the Nigerian youths to rewrite their history not by agonizing about their predicament but by organizing and taking what is theirs.

Many young people believe today that the grass is indeed greener in the entertainment industry.

This did not happen accidentally. A few people changed the face of the music industry because they demanded respect when we were being disrespected by some government establishment and the corporate world. Some 16 years ago, some corporate organizations were in the habit of bringing in foreign artists to the detriment of our artists. Our "A" list acts flew in the economy class in this Nigeria while foreign acts were in the first class compartment, yet it is our artistes that held the crowd, whose ginger made a successful show. But the money Nigerian artists were paid in those days was so shameful.

A few people made a decision to change the status quo, they demanded more respect and befitting pay for our artist. It did not come easy. The corporate world at that time felt threatened, the leader of the group was thrown in cell for three weeks when Ja Rule was invited to perform in Nigeria. The same group of people also stormed Alaba market to fight against piracy that saw millions of pirated works burnt before the international press. It was huge!

When Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, took peoples’ programs and gave Multichoice as content without taking permission from the producers, the group sued them and won. At several times in court, they fought for the respect and intellectual property of our creative community. Since then, the whole equation has changed. This struggle was only championed by not more than 4persons.

We all know that if people did not stand up at the time they did to fight for the industry, many would not be enjoying what we have today in the Entertainment industry. It only takes a few determined soul to change a situation and even a country. Just like it has taken less than 1% of the Nigerian population to impoverish millions of my people. God punish dem!

Imagine how mad I get when the criminal politicians rub it in our faces that "we" the masses, their subjects, are irredeemable, that, we will forever continue to be docile and wallow in our hopelessness because we are a suffering and smiling moronic bunch of people, worse than animals that live in the bush. Kai!!!!

No more, will leadership Ignore the youths, pensioners, and the working populace and continue to allocate Billions to the politically corrupt riffraffs!!!

I just dey laugh because these our yeye politicians no know how far.

A Nation is reawakened when politicians continue in the path of reckless criminality. A vexed and angry Mob is encouraged because he who is down fears no fall. My people, check out the recent skirmishes in Niger, Nassarawa and Jigawa, e never start, we dey come. The biggest showdown will obviously start from the north - Their eyes don dey open. Our docility has been ridiculed and our fear laughed at, but, soon, we will strike fear in the hearts of our thieving leaders, we will kill Corruption before it kills us.

The "A" list Nigerian Actors/Musicians all have a large fan base. They should sensitize their base to understand that until they agitate for something, nothing will ever change, and the status quo will remain the same.

Therefore, this is a passionate appeal, to all Nigerian entertainers, to be part of the biggest revolutionary movement in Nigeria, by Nigerians, and for Nigerians - the OurMumuDonDo movement. The OurMumuDonDo movement is not a personal thing. We give people like Tuface the credit for thinking in that line, even when he did not come out, the outcome was still successful because it was not about Tuface but that chord he struck that connected the frustrations of so many youths, their hopelessness, and disenchantment.

This is a call from the AREAFADA to our exceptional Nigerian Actors, Comedians, Musicians, all entertainers, to be part of history. We can do this stuff, we can change Nigeria with our acts and our voices. Only about 5 exceptional people in the art world can change the equation. They can drive 50 who will revolutionalize 500 Spartans who can lead 5,000 in this battle to energize 500,000 capable of birthing The Mob For Good Governance. We seek thousands of Nigerian youths with the spartan spirit who will be fearless in their bid to reclaim their stolen future. We must understand that this struggle is for Nigeria and our collective future.

The results will outlive the people who started it. We can do this! The art world has ALL it takes to change the mindset of Nigerians and until they do that, nothing will ever change.
