Again, Buhari No Show At Weekly Federal Executive Council Meeting As VP Osinbajo Presides

President Buhari failed to attend the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting today as planned by members of his cabal who had orchestrated his brief and controlled appearance yesterday.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s handlers yesterday implemented a brief and carefully-controlled appearance for him in his "office" in the presidential villa as public concern about his health reached fever pitch nationwide.

However, today, Mr. Buhari has missed his fourth consecutive Federal Executive Council meeting unable to walk from his residence to the meeting which commenced at 11 am Nigerian time.

Yesterday, the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, Maikanti Baru, and Attorney General Abubakar Malami claimed they met President Buhari for several hours to discuss state matters but they provided no evidence that the meeting took place as claimed except addressing State House correspondents to make those wild claims. Several sources said Buhari did not leave his residence and that there was no truth to the fact that he came to his office yesterday.

Federal ministers who had been hopeful of seeing Buhari at the FEC meeting today were disappointed when the Vice President told them he would be presiding over the meeting apologizing that the President could not make because he needed more rest.

Also, last Friday, he was also a no-show at the customary Juma’at Service at the Aso Rock mosque.

Mr. Buhari’s handlers became alarmed when the founding chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Bisi Akande, issued a statement in which he asked Nigerians to pray for Buhari’s health and warned that political manipulators were cashing in the situation with a plot to plunge Nigeria into political turmoil.
