Two People Hit By Stray Bullets As Police, Residents Clash In Ikorodu

The residents were said to have attempted to lynch the suspect but were stopped by policemen who tried to whisk him away to safety.

A clash has erupted between policemen and residents of Aga, Ikorodu, after two persons were hit by stray bullet from the police this morning.

It was gathered that the residents on Sunday night caught a man suspected to be a member of ritual gang Badoo around Olomomeje Mosque at Oni-Ogunsanya Street.

The residents were said to have attempted to lynch the suspect but were stopped by policemen who tried to whisk him away to safety.

However, attempts by the police to take the aspect away was aborted by the mob, including youths in the area.

To have their way, the policemen were said to have released gunshots in order to disperse the crowd which hit two persons on the head and hand.

Angered by the development, the youths are said you have engaged the policemen in a fight and there is an ongoing crisis at the area.
