Seven Persons Killed As Heavily Armed Gang Invade Anambra Church

A shooting incident today claimed the lives of at least 7 people as unknown armed assailants invaded St. Philip Catholic Church Amakwa Ozobulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The rampaging gun men shot at worshippers during an early morning mass in the church killing 6 females and 1 male while four persons sustained various degrees of injuries.

The deceased and Injured victims have been conveyed to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi. Police sources told Saharareporters that their preliminary investigation shows that it is a drug related gang case in which the father of one of the gang leaders had been a target during today's attack.
