At Least 20 Killed In Konduga Suicide Attacks

A source from the Civilian Joint Task Force in the area said that the death toll could climb past 30, as rescue operations were still ongoing when he spoke to our correspondent.

At least twenty people were killed and eight injured in twin suicide attacks in Konduga, Borno State on Tuesday.

One rescue worker disclosed that two suicide bombers stormed a local market and detonated explosives strapped to their bodies on Tuesday afternoon.

The rescue worker, who was bringing victims to a hospital, told our correspondent that there were still victims lying at the site of the twin blasts.

At around 6:00 p.m., another attack was launched in Madurari community in the outskirts of Konduga. The second attack also involved two suicide bombers, according to witnesses.

Details of the attacks and casualties are still emerging.
