Peter and Paul Okoye, the Nigerian hip-hop twins from the group P-Square, have finally split up. According to a letter by Peter (also known as Mr. P) sent to their lawyer Festus Keyamo (SAN), Peter demanded a termination of the contract between the group.
"What I am about to do has been a very difficult decision to make. I have decided to use this medium to terminate the agreement between Psquare."
In the letter, Peter raised serious allegations against Paul and their older brother and manager, Jude Okoye. Peter accused Paul of failing to cooperate with him and canceled their scheduled tour in the U.S. He also accused Paul of slandering his wife and children on social media. Peter has also claimed that he and his family has been getting threats and says that Jude once threatened to kill him and his wife.
"Me and my wife have been getting life-threatening messages and I fear for my life and the life of my family. Remember Jude has threatened to kill me and shoot my wife in the presence of Paul and Mrs. Imoke," he said.
The Okoye brothers have been engulfed in a war of words on social media in recent times, and the recent news of their split has confirmed rumors that their relationship is severely strained.
“Psquare is no more. I have nothing against my brothers. I saw Paul’s post on Instagram about blood being thicker than water. Who is water and who is blood?" Peter asked.
Peter then stressed that his nuclear family was very important to him and decided to move on.
Peter recently posted a Snapchat video revealing that he was in Philadelphia on his own for a solo show – without Paul.
“My name is Mr. P and as from today, guess what? It’s show time, I’m about to go on stage,” he said.
The Snapchat post came days after Paul wrote on Instagram: “Only a woman can come where there’s peace and destroy it.”
