Currently, the embattled Bursar is facing trial at the Ondo State High Court, Akure over the financial mismanagement of the Federal University.

Mr. Oresegun together with the erstwhile Vice Chancellor, Adebiyi Daramola were dragged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to the court.

Although, Daramola was later suspended as the Vice Chancellor on May 8 2017 by the federal government.

His suspension was conveyed through a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Hussaini Adamu.

The tenure of the former Vice Chancellor later elapsed on May 23, 2017 prompting the University to appoint new helmsman to manage the institution's affairs.

The journey of the embattled Bursar to the Court started when the organised unions of the university exposed financial scams in the college.

Our correspondent had earlier obtained some documents showing how money meant to develop the university were diverted into personal pockets using the office of the Bursar as a conduit.

Meanwhile, the University has appointed Peter Oladapo Osadugba as the Acting Bursar of the institution.

Mr. Osadugba was appointed as head of the Bursary department of the university pending the outcome of an investigation into the finances of the University.

He is the Chief Accountant of the School until his appointment as the Acting Bursar of the University.

Osadugba joined the services of FUTA in 1995 as Accountant II and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Accountant in 2011 before this new appointment.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration in addition to Associate Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN).
