The former Commissioner for Public Transportation in Lagos State, Chief Lanre Kamoru Rasak has commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode for his performance in transforming the state since he assumed office.

Chief Rasak who spoke with PMNEWS in his office at Ijora, Lagos commended the governor for the infrastructural transformation of the nooks crannies of the state. From Abule-Egba, Badagry, Epe, Alapere, Ikorodu and other parts of the state, Ambode, said with delight, has provided motorable roads.
The former Commissioner for Public Transportation said Governor Ambode has also eliminated traffic congestion in the Lagos metropolis through the Iyana-oworo axis and other parts of the state.
On why Ambode should contest for a second term, Chief Rasak who is also the Balogun of Epe and President of Epe Club said Ambode deserves a second term because of his performance which is visible across the state, adding that there is no need to vote for another person in 2019 when the incumbent has performed wonderfully within a period of fewer than three years.
According to Rasak, “no need for trial and error, since Ambode is performing wonderfully well, he needs the support of Lagosians to continue his developmental strides in the next four years. The APC chieftain said the governor had also done well in the area of security by combating the notorious Badoo boys in Ikorodu, setting up the Neighborhood Security Watch in the 57 local governments areas of the state to tackle the problem of insecurity.
Also commenting on the recent statement by former president Olusegun Obasanjo, the APC stalwart said Obasanjo is entitled to his opinion, but added that President Muhammadu Buhari is trying his best to fight corruption despite the fact that the past administrations had made things difficult for Nigerians which is not easy to repair within two years.
He contended that Lagos deserves a special status as the former federal capital and economic nerve center of Nigeria, stressing that Lagos State generates 70 percent of the country’s Value Added Tax (VAT).
Rasak added that 30 percent of the oil revenue should be allocated to Lagos State in order to ensure more developmental projects and to attain the status of one of the biggest cities in the world.
Commenting on the clamor for the restructuring of the country, the APC chieftain said instead of restructuring, there should be devolution of power, stressing that the Federal government is having too much power.
He advised the federal government to cede more powers to the states to enable them to be autonomous and economically viable.
On the emergence of new political parties, the renowned politician said the newly formed political parties lack structures and membership support adding that the parties were formed to achieve selfish motives without focus and vision.
He said some of the new political parties cannot win councillorship election or local government chairmanship election.
