Obasanjo's Comment On Buhari' Govt Highly Political, Says APC Chieftain

Danu who said this while speaking with journalists at the APC's national secretariat in Abuja therefore urged Nigerians to continue to support Buhari as the statement credited to Obasanjo was a mere opinion

A member of the National Executive Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Nasiru Danu, has said the description of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as a failure by former President Olusegun Obasanjo is politically motivated.

Danu who said this while speaking with journalists at the APC's national secretariat in Abuja therefore urged Nigerians to continue to support Buhari as the statement credited to Obasanjo was a mere opinion.

“The truth is that everybody can have his opinion on an issue but to me this is a successful administration. Buhari never promised to be a miracle worker. In three years the success of this administration in the economy, security are obvious.

“There is no nation that can progress or have meaningful development with the past levels of corruption. When somebody says he is a failure, failure in what? Are we talking about the railways connecting the country? The Port Harcourt-Maiduguri or Lagos-Kano rail line? The Mambilla project, the second Niger Bridge etc. “In security, compared to what we had before, there are improvements

Danu who also pointed that before the APC government came into power, there have been attacks by Boko Haram even in Abuja pointed out that there have been improvements in the country's security situation since the Buhari Led government assumed office.

Obasanjo had warned Nigerians not to reinforce failure by re- electing ineffective and incompetent government come 2019, while receiving the Chima Anyaso led New Nigeria group on Monday at the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library in Ogun state.

He also warned Nigerian's not to be deceived by the reforms being claimed by the people's Democratic Party.

The former President also asked Buhari and members of APC to stop giving Nigerians excuses and get down to work to stabilize the nation's shaky econom.

Obasanjo noted that it was uncharitable for Buhari and his party to continue complaining about challenges they inherited from the previous administration almost three years after assuming office.

Obasanjo also accused Buhari and the APC government of “ bringing hardship on Nigerians ” and “ running ineffective economic policies” which “ crippled businesses.”

He also hammed the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, advising Nigerians not to be deceived by recent apology offered by the party.
