BREAKING: Armed Mobile Policemen Disrupt Ekiti PDP's Road Rally

The rally, tagged 'Victory Walk' for Olusola Kolapo Eleka, candidate of the PDP, was organised by Ayodele Fayose, incumbent Governor of the state.

Armed policemen have disrupted a political rally organized by members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State ahead of Saturday's governorship election.

The rally, tagged 'Victory Walk' for Olusola Kolapo Eleka, the candidate of the PDP, was organized by Ayodele Fayose, incumbent Governor of the state.

Supporters of the PDP had trooped to the pavilion close to INEC road in Ado-Ekiti and were waiting for Fayose when the rally was disrupted by the Police.

SaharaReporters gathered that the armed mobile policemen shot sporadically into the air, scaring away many supporters of the party who were all clad in white attire.

The supporters of the ruling PDP had all moved en masse from Old Governor's Office along Oke Ayoba before the rioting policemen punctuated their procession, repeated firing teargas canisters.

A resident of Ekiti who spoke with SaharaReporters said the policemen were sent to disrupt the rally, and many PDP supporters fled for their lives.

One of the personal assistants to the governor identified as Sola was also tear-gassed and beaten to a pulp by the armed policemen.
