It's Clear To Every Nigerian That Oshiomhole Has Not Been Sleeping, Says PDP

“This is the Chairman, or the factional Chairman of a party, you are losing members, you have lost state governors, you have lost 37 members of the House of Representatives, you have lost 15, plus Saraki 16 senators, and you say you don’t lose sleep? It is clear to every Nigerian that you have not been sleeping; and if you still don’t want to sleep, then it means you’re not concerned about your party," Ologbondiyan said.

Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says it is impossible that Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has not been losing sleep over the loss of leading members of his party to the opposition.

Since it became clear that some APC members were bent of defecting to the PDP, Oshiomhole has consistently said he would not lose sleep over them.

He has maintained this stance in his media interviews, but Ologbondiyan says it is impossible.

“Oshiomhole is no longer doing the job of reconciliatory that he is expected to do in the party,” Ologbondiyan said on Wednesday evening when he appeared as a guest on Channels TV’s Politics Today.

“We, in the Peoples Democratic Party, don’t take him seriously; we don’t mind what he’s saying. We see him as somebody who doesn’t understand the difference between unionism and main politics. So all that he is doing as far as the PDP is concerned is that he is just belabouring himself over issues that have no importance in the political arena.

“This is the Chairman, or the factional Chairman of a party, you are losing members, you have lost state governors, you have lost 37 members of the House of Representatives, you have lost 15, plus Saraki 16 senators, and you say you don’t lose sleep? It is clear to every Nigerian that you have not been sleeping; and if you still don’t want to sleep, then it means you’re not concerned about your party."

Ologbondiyan suggested that his party is concerned about the people Oshiomhole won't lose sleep over, saying: "We are then concerned about the Peoples Democratic Party; we are interested in making it the party that is acceptable to majority of Nigerians; and that is why, today, we are receiving governors, we are receiving deputy governors; we are receiving National Assembly members, in the Senate and in the House of Representatives, state assemblies."
