Akpabio And His DSS Gang Trying To Break The Laws Of The Country, Says Murray-Bruce

“I am currently at the National Assembly, where Senator Akpabio and the gang are orchestrating to break the laws of Nigeria, with the backing of the security forces," Murray-Bruce tweeted.

Ben Murray-Bruce, the senator representing Bayelsa East District at the National Assembly, has accused Godswill Akpabio, the senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West constituency at the National Assembly, of complicity in the invasion of the National Assembly premises by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The DSS, as early as 6:00am, invaded the National Assembly and prevented lawmakers, journalists and other members of staff from gaining entry into the premises.

Following this development, Murray-Bruce, via his Twitter handle, @benmurraybruce, accused Akpabio of orchestrating the DSS invasion.

He wrote: “I am currently at the National Assembly, where Senator Akpabio and the gang are orchestrating to break the laws of Nigeria, with the backing of the security forces.”

He ugrged the US and the UK to “revoke their visas and that of their family members".

“We will forever defend this hard fought democracy," he said. "Illegality will never stand! We are now in the complex but are yet to get access to the chambers as staff of the National Assembly in charge of this have been blocked from entry.”

He later tweeted: “A few of us finally got our way in, but the media have been blocked from entry. However, we have our phones and will make sure injustice doesn’t prevail.”

In another tweet minutes later, Murray-Bruce also noted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators were “waiting for Akpabio and his cohorts of anti-democratic agents".
