The National Association of the Blind, Taraba State chapter, has paid a courtesy visit to the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Taraba State of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Baba Yusuf.

According to a tweet via INEC's official handle, @inecnigeria, on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, the visit was to appreciate the efforts of the Commission for inclusiveness and access for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the electoral process.

Over the years, the commission has sought inclusiveness for PWDs and has taken adequate steps to help them exercise their rights to vote, contest elections and act as election observers.

According to information from INEC's website on how the commission ensures that blind people take part in electoral processes, "A voter who is blind or unable to distinguish symbols or who suffers any other physical challenge is accompanied into the polling unit and assisted to vote by a person chosen by him/her."
