Court Adjourns Jones Abiri's Case Till September 5

Magistrate Chukwuemeka Okafor has adjourned the trial of Jones Abiri until September 5.

The case was adjourned on Friday at the Wuse Zone 2 Magistrate Court.

Abiri, a Bayelsa-based journalist and publisher of the Weekly Source Magazine, was arrested  in July 2016, over his alleged link to armed militancy in the Niger Delta region.

Abiri was detained for more than two years without trial.

Following public outcry, he was eventually charged with the crime in July 2018 and was granted bail on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.
