Boko Haram Kills 'More Than 25, Burns Down A Whole Village' In Borno Attack

"More than 25 persons were killed and many are still missing, they came in large number to rain bullet on villagers," a villager told SaharaReporters. "Many of them fled to Monguno town for safety but the deadly group looted foodstuffs before they set the community ablaze."

 

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have killed many villagers and injured dozens following a raid on a community in Guzamala Local Government Area of Borno State at the weekend, local hunter and aid workers said.

The incidents occurred in Mailari village at about 2:15pm on Saturday, with more than 25 villagers and the whole village burnt down.

According to the local hunter source, the militants stormed the village on utility vehicles and opened fire sporadically on civilians.

An aid worker added: "Nobody is presently in Mailari now; they came with weapons of mass destruction."
