The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has said about 22,000 Nigerian pilgrims have returned to the country.

This was announced on Friday in a statement by the NAHCON Head of Public Affairs Division, Hajiya Fatima Sanda Usara.

According to Usara, “Sokoto has only one flight to complete its return trip while FlyNas also has only one flight to conclude its 2018 airlift of Nigerian pilgrims", just as she added that Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Edo, Kwara, Kogi, Kebbi, Nasarawa states and Armed Forces have concluded their return journey.

The commission also warned all pilgrims of the danger of including prohibited items in their luggages.

“This call became necessary following discoveries made during an unscheduled visit to pilgrims’ luggage screening bay, where some bags were found with prohibited items that could compromise the safety of passengers,” she said.
