The National Association of Nigerian Traders, on Monday, stormed the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Secretariat in Abuja to protest the alleged closure of their businesses in Ghana.

The protesters marched through the Yakubu Gowon way in Asokoro, causing traffic.

They also marched through the junction where the headquarters of the ECOWAS commission is located, partially disrupting activities in the secretariat.

Barrister Ken Ukaoha, President of the Association, said the Ghanaian parliament has recently passed a law that has made business transactions difficult for foreign investors in Ghana.

The association also gave ECOWAS one-week ultimatum to address the situation or it would have all its members picket the secretariat.

The president also called on the Federal Government to caution its Ghanaian counterpart, by ensuring that there is free movement of goods and services.
