PDP Accuses Ganduje, APC Of Attacking Its Campaign Rallies In Kano

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday accused the Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of orchestrating plans to destabilize the opposition in Kano.

Besides, PDP has accused Police of being partisan and lopsidedness in favor of the ruling APC in Kano.

Addressing journalists in Kano, leader of Kwankwasiyya movement deputy gubernatorial candidate of PDP, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo said the ruling party of hiring political thugs to invade its campaign rallies to unleash crisis.

Aminu cited the crisis that engulfed its gubernatorial rally at Tarauni local government area where some hoodlums who disguised as PDP members infiltrated the large crowd of supporters and inflict terror on members.

He equally referred to vandalization of PDP posters and banners by APC supporters at Wudil and Ajingi local government areas where the ruling party seems to have threatened by the Monmouth supporters of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

According to him, " Despite our resolution to go about our campaign in peaceful manner devoid of carrying any weapon and attack any personal, the ruling party under Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has went on rampage to destabilize our campaign rallies.

" We have  traverse 37 local government areas without record of attack or crisis in the last five week but just recently, the APC seems to have been jittery with the support of common people. They have hire thugs cause crisis at our campaign and destroy our campaign banners and posters. 

" Kwankwasiyya and indeed PDP have the capacity to defend ourselves but as law abiding citizens, we have reported the case to the police but its seems no action was taken so far. We are calling on security agencies to check the rising violence in the interest of peace".

Aminu who blamed the Police of handling political crisis between the ruling party and oppositions with levity, challenged the Police to prosecute those perpetrated the killings of innocent people during APC rallies in Rano and Bichi towns recently.

When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Kano command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna denied PDP allegations, insisted that the command is yet to receive any complain from the opposition party. 

He said the Police is already engaging the major political parties and candidates to address recent crisis ensued during campaigns.

APC Chairman in Kano Prince Abdullahi Abbas did not pick his calls neither respond to text message. When contacted for comment, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar promised to response to the allegation.
