The residents praised the governor for steps he has taken to beef up the security presence in the state but asserted that there are some individuals who do not want the state to experience peace.
Residents of Wonka, Ruwan Bore and Mada communities have raised an alarm on the security formation of the state which they claimed is causing the strings of attacks in the state.
Residents of the three communities made this known in an open letter to Abdulaziz Yari, Governor of Zamfara State.
The residents praised the governor for steps he has taken to beef up the security presence in the state but asserted that there are some individuals who do not want the state to experience peace.
They added that vested personal interest has seen to the evacuation of military personnel from Mada.
“We believe you are doing anything possible to end the horrific condition but we as the bonafide indigenes of these wards suspect a foul play in the security architecture in respect to operations of the security activities and some of your political acolytes in these three wards of Mada, Wonaka and Ruwan Bore.”
“Our location, to all rights thinking concerned, deserves to have a military personnel station as it was before which give a cover to the area, but the refusal of the power that be in the local government because of a vested interest saw to the evacuation of the soldiers that were hitherto stationed in Mada.”
The communities residents informed the governor that villages in Wonaka, Ruwan bore, and Mada Wards are currently under siege and they are forced to leave their houses to “scamper for safety, leaving behind their valuables properties to be burnt down to ashes by the bandits.”
They, however, urged the governor to probe the evacuation of soldiers out of Mada, with residents left in favour of bandits.
“Though you receive briefs, but of the briefs you receive especially as its regards to insecurity in Mada axis is mostly half truth because some people are feeding fat on the security votes of the local government.
“You need to boldly and personally question the station behind the evacuation of soldiers out of Mada axis. Indeed, when you check on this, you will definitely not reward the hypocrisy of a vested interest in the matter.”
