BREAKING: Babachir Lawal To Remain In EFCC Detention

Ruling on his bail application will be determined on February 13, 2019.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered that Babachir Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), be remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Lawal had pleaded not guilty to the 10-count charge of N544,119,925.36 charges levelled against him by EFCC. He is being tried alongside Hamidu David Lawal, Sulaiman Abubakar, Apeh John Monday, Rholavision Engineering Limited and Josmon Technologies Limited

Lawal was said to have private interest in the approval of N544,119,925.36, for the removal of invasive plant species and simplified irrigation.

He was arraigned before Justice Okeke of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Ruling on his bail application will be determined on February 13, 2019.
