Christian Chukwu, former Super Eagles coach, has undergone a successful surgery on the leg in Enugu and is currently recuperating and resting in an undisclosed hotel in the Coal City.
This has put the lie to the reports making the rounds that the erstwhile head coach of the National team is seriously ill and in desperate need of $50,000 dollars for a prompt operation in the United States.
However, it was gathered that Chukwu based on doctor's directive was asked to stay in a hotel to avoid incessant disturbance from throng of well-wishers.
It was also gathered that the Rangers Technical Adviser could not have been cash-strapped because he is entitled to a stipend of N700,000 from the Rangers International a club he did not only play for but also coached in the course of his career.
Chukwu, as captain of the Green Eagles, was part of the team that won the first African Nations Cup for Nigeria for the first time in its football history in 1980. He also served as assisstant head coach to Clemens Westerhof the Dutchman that won the cup for the second in Tunisia in 1994
