The school had engulfed in crisies last year when the management led by Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun jacked up the tuition by 100 percent which is from #35, 000 to #200, 000 leading to students unrest on the campus.

A student of the institution, Adesola

Ikuyajowo, who spoke to the Sahara Reporters correspondent on phone over the protest, said the students decided to embarked on the protest since the management barred them from writing the test over refusal to register and pay their tuition.

Ikuyajowo explained that the tests which was compulsory for students of the institution in the year one and two had started on Tuesday despite the plea with management to shift the date in order to allow them pay.

"Why the students were protesting was becuase of the tuition fee and 'No registration, No test' policies of the school management.

"The year Two - 200 Level students were suppose to write their own test today (Wednesday) but they were disallowed from writing since they have not paid their tuition fee.

"Although, some of them who had written the test earlier was on basis that they could produce the school receipt and they were allowed while others were barred.

"The protest would have occurred yesterday (Tuesday) but the test that was done was only mearnt for the year one - 100 students

"So, those (students) ones becuase they were new on campus they are afraid and not bold enough to carry out the protest" he said.

Following the protest management of the school has approved a Mid-Semester break for all the students of the state owned University.

A statement issued by the school Registrar, Sunday Ayeerun obtained by Sahara Reporter read that all the students are to procceed on a mid- semster break.

"All students of the university are, therefore, advised to proceed on the Mid-Semester break with immediate effect. Students are to resume to campus on Monday,  May 20, 2019" it read.
