Gunmen have abducted Susana Jonathan, Permanent Secretary in Taraba State Ministry of Water Resources.

Jonathan was kidnapped from his home on Sunday, making it two high profile kidnapping cases in Taraba in less than seven days.

According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen stormed into the house of Jonathan and shot sporadically into the air, giving them cover to carry out their plans.

Confirming the kidnap, David Misal, spokesman of the state police command, said the Police is yet to be officially informed of the attack.

Misal said: “From the intelligence report we have received, the woman is nowhere to be found, but we are yet to receive any official report regarding the incident.

“We want to call on the public not to be afraid of reporting any security threat promptly to security agencies to enable us take proactive measures.”
