'Give Us Leah As Inauguration Gift' Foundation Begs Buhari

"We need an inaugural gift and that gift is Leah and that is what we want to see. We want to see her set free"

The Leah Sharibu Foundation has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to give them inaugural gift by ensuring that Leah Sharibu is released from captivity. 

The Leader of the foundation,  Gloria  Samdi Puldu  made this appeal on Tuesday while marking the 16th years birthday of Leah at the unity fountain in Abuja. 

According to her "We need an inaugural gift and that gift is Leah and that is what we want to see. We want to see her set free".

The group noted that celebration of inauguration and democracy day would be meaningless if Leah is still languishing  in the camp of terrorists.

Puldu who spoke in tears said that the best democracy day and inaugural gift he can give to Nigerians is secure the release Leah Sharibu who was has been kidnapped since  February 2018.

This is the second birthday of Leah is marking in the camp of terrorists. 

According to her "Now that the inauguration is coming we want to use this medium  to plead and call on government especially our dear President Muhammadu Buhari that he should do the needful and give us a surprise, a gift and inaugural gift to Nigerians by releasing Leah just like others were released from the captivity".

She called on well meaning Nigerians to stand in solidarity with Leah as she marked another year noting that it could be anybody's daughter.

"We appeal to every woman wherever you are speak out , call out and stand in solidarity for Leah and all other girls and women in captivity".

Puldu also called the first Lady, Aisha Buhari to prevail on the President to do everything possible for her release. 

Her words "I will also specifically call on our first lady who is a mother who has daughters and children . She should please ensure that she prevail on the President. Plead with him , cry out to him as a mother that he should give Nigerians a gift of having Leah Sharibu set free ".

Every 14th of May is Leah's birthday who was abducted on February 19, 2018, at  5:30pm alongside 109 others at Dapchi Secondary School in Yobe. 

The terrorists later released others girls but held on to Leah for being only christian among the girls and  for not renouncing her religion.
