UPDATE: Absence Of Naira Marley's Lawyer Stalls Court Proceedings

Azeez Fashola, Nigerian musician better known as Naira Marley was on Tuesday arraigned at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

He is being charged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on his alleged involvement with advance fee fraud.

SaharaReporters spotted Naira Marley at 9:46am when he arrived the court premises.

The musician who is wearing a white tee shirt and black trousers looked subdued as he was led into the dock.

Mild drama ensued when his mother on sighting him burst into uncontrollable tears while family members who accompanied her tried to pacify her.

The proceeding was however stood down upon commencement due to the absence of the defence team.

One of the defence counsels for Naira Marley, Taiwo Oreagba is currently on ground.
