Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, has ordered the removal of Malam Salihu Muhammed, the Chief Imam of Limawa Jumat mosque in Kumbotso Local government Area of the state.
Muhammed's sack is with immediate effect.

The Emir lamented that the Imam did the same thing last year and was warned against it.
Sanusi, however, said that the Chief Imam was sacked for being adamant. He added that Muhammed repeated the same action this year despite being warned against it last year.
Sanusi said he had no option but to replace him.
The sacked Imam has kept mum, refusing to comment on the matter.
